Our suggestions when reviewing residential plans:

Focus on the energy rate (you will pay pass thru charges to the utility like everyone else and the amount is the same regardless of your chosen REP).

It is normally not necessary or beneficial to pay a monthly base charge.

Stay away from tiered plans that have changing energy rates determined by your monthly usage.

Do not let your contract expire and be billed on ‘Holdover’ rates which are variable and can be very expensive.

If you to switch to a new provider and you are in a contract, you may switch away up to 14 days before your contract ends.
